Laser Hair Removal

With So many products available and sources of skin care information it can be more than overwhelming trying to start a skin care routine. It can also become expensive. How do you know what products are most important? You may ask yourself, “is this something I really need?” “What is this product actually going to do for me?” “Is it worth the price I’m going to be paying?”  “Where do I begin?” These are all important questions you should ask yourself before investing in a skin care regime. There are a lot of fantastic anti-aging products available however if your skin is not “prepped” and in a health state, then you are not going to get the full benefit from those skin care products.

At Reflections Med spa, the laser hair removal process is painless! Unlike getting waxed and having to allow your hair to grow long and wild, you are required to shave prior to coming in for your treatment, so you can maintain smooth legs between sessions via shaving. If you are tired of shaving, and spending your time and money managing the hair then laser hair removal is right for you!

Laser hair removal is a common medical aesthetics treatment that utilizes a concentrated beam of light energy to remove unwanted hair, permanent hair reduction. Treatments are performed in a series of every 6-8 weeks until satisfactory results are obtained, generally following 6-10 treatments. Treatments are strategically scheduled to target hair growth in each growth cycle for efficient results. Growth Cycles? What do you mean?! Hair grows in three stages: anagen phase, catagen phase and telogen phase. Each strand of hair on the human body is growing at its own development and once the cycle of phases is complete it restarts and a new strand of hair begins to form.

The laser beam of light it attracted to darker pigmentation.  It is recommended that patients avoid sun exposure since tanned skin can deliver poor results, and risk of damaging the skin. Patients who regularly receive direct sun exposure that want to undergo laser hair removal treatments will have to discontinue their exposure to sunlight naturally or artificially for at least 6-8 weeks prior to their first treatment and must not receive sun exposure until 2 weeks following their last treatment. No Spray tanning for 1 week prior to treatments.

My experience at Reflections Med spa with Alma laser technology is fast, effective, and completely pain-free. I am comfortable knowing I am in the hands of a trained and licensed professional and the relaxing atmosphere puts all of my worries at ease. I got one area and got a small area as a gift for free and couldn’t be happier with my results so far. This summer I will be totally hair free with no shaving required!
